Offered in a 5 and 2 Day format, BW Theater Camp creates an experience inspired by all aspects of Broadway training and a Broadway show rehearsal process, while being easily accessible to non-professionals. All participants must be 18 and there is no upper age limit.
The program is structured to make theater both accessible and exciting, emulating a conservatory like environment while purposely discouraging a competitive atmosphere.

BW Theater Camp is taught by theater artists and creatives from the Broadway industry, and many of our teachers have extensive teaching resumes in addition to their high profile performing ones. Our theater camp faculty heavily features artists from the current Broadway season, offering immediate access to the art form and how it is currently practiced at the highest level.
Participants create a track from our packed schedule, focusing on performing, gaining a glimpse into the Broadway theater industry, or discovering new theater based games, exercises, and ideas to take back to their classroom.
Price includes all workshops and programming, and a premium ticket to a select Broadway show.

Participants design their own track from our packed summer schedule of workshops, focusing on performing, gaining a glimpse into the Broadway theater industry, or discovering new games and exercises to take back to their classroom.
BW Theater Camp has a high return rate from participants of all backgrounds, with goals including confidence building, growth as an artist, and adrenaline filled self care!
The program has been recognized as Professional Development by organizations including NYCDOE, CPS, BOCES.
The 5 day camp is for you if you want a week in the life of a NYC actor in training. While going to workshops with your peers, the schedule provides time to get to know each other fully and embrace your unique love for theater. The showcase for family and friends creates memories to last until next year’s summer camp.
Last year’s programming boasted a 54% return rate and 30% of participants were theater educators.
The 2 Day camp is a jump start theater intensive, highlighting favorite workshops from the 5 day programming. The program is ideal for artists who want to refresh and add to their toolkit for performing and teaching theater, and those wanting a workshop schedule with a shorter time commitment.
Last year’s programming boasted a 17% return rate and 58% of participants were theater educators.
Theater teachers of all backgrounds have joined us, some with extensive theatrical performance backgrounds and others from sister subjects including Music or English.
Workshops will be held at Open Jar Studios – a studio in the heart of Times Square.
As a group participants will see a Broadway show from the current Tony season.
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
BW raises a small scholarship fund from private beneficiaries, and offers a small number of heavily subsidized tickets to educators for BW Theater Camp each year.
NYC DOE teachers are automatically eligible for this subsidized price, while scholarships last, because of a partnership relationship with Peter Avery and the NYC DOE department of theater.
